Sometimes when reviewing a game it’s hard to look at it from a balanced perspective. In my heart Bioware’s epic space opera Mass Effect is a 10/10, a flawless game from start to finish and full of everything I could ask from a videogame. The problem here is that the heart is subjective, biased, and irrational, clouding better judgement despite obvious flaws. Mass Effect is a stunning and imaginative game from the get go but there are those nagging problems throughout which prevent it from achieving that perfect score, no matter how much my gamer heart wants to award it.
I have seen the light, and it is me.
